I have loved the sea since I was a child. The Maremma coast, the wonderful promontory of Monte Argentario and the wild coast of Capalbio are the places where I grew up and fell in love with. Being enveloped in that energy was and is something extraordinary.
My friends nicknamed me "sea sponge" because I spent all my time in the water, something that still regenerates me and makes me happy.
Because when you swim and move away from the shore, while the seabed becomes increasingly intense blue and there are no other noises around, you immediately feel in the present moment. And it is precisely in that exact moment that you feel its strength and understand how beautiful everything around you is.
In one of those moments, a few years ago, I realized I was surrounded by a plastic backdrop and I became aware of the fact that the sea I had known as a child was no longer the same.
We must act before it's too late, do everything we can to protect it and make it come back as (and maybe even more) beautiful than before.
