I have loved the sea since I was little. The coast of Maremma, the wonderful promontory of Monte Argentario and the wild coast of Capalbio are the places where I grew up and fell in love with. Being enveloped by that energy was and is something extraordinary.
My friends nicknamed me "sea sponge" because I spent in the water all the time, something that still regenerates me and makes me happy today.
Because when you swim and move away from the shore, while the seabed becomes an increasingly intense blue and there are no other noises around, you immediately feel in the present moment. And it is in that exact moment that you feel its strength and understand how beautiful everything around you is.
In one of those moments, a few years ago, I realized that I was surrounded by a plastic backdrop and I became aware of the fact that the sea I had known as a child was no longer the same.
We must act before it's too late, do everything we can to protect it and make it return as (and perhaps even more) beautiful than before.
